Llanfoist School Prospectus 2018-2019
At Llanfoist Fawr Primary School we believe that the primary phase of education is one of the most important in a child’s learning journey and at the centre of their future development. It is a time when we aim to nurture in children a lifelong love of learning. In leading children on this journey we pride ourselves on making the route fun, exciting and enjoyable.
We strive to attain high educational standards. In the Foundation Phase we deliver experiential learning, this skills based approach is extended into Key Stage 2 provision. We treat all our children as individuals. Additional support is provided for those who benefit from extra help as well as those who are more able. Our approach to education is to equip children for their next step of learning and for life in the 21st Century.
We are very proud of all our children and staff. If you would like to visit the school or would like to ask any questions please feel free to telephone or drop into the school, we operate an ‘open door’ policy.
On behalf of the Governing Body, I hope you find this latest edition of the Prospectus informative and helpful.
The governors are very proud of the school. The staff, ably led by headteacher, Jon Murphy, is highly motivated. This means there is a high standard of teaching and learning. The school and governing body are not complacent however and always seek to improve standards. As Governors we share the aims and aspirations of Mr Murphy and his team and work hard to support, encourage and sometimes challenge them all. We share their passion for ensuring that every child is recognised and valued and their talents and abilities are nurtured and developed to their full potential.
